It brings joy in more ways than one: not only is it a beautifully crafted ornament featuring a beloved dog or cat's face laser-engraved onto rustic wood, but it also serves as a deeply meaningful keepsake-especially for anyone who has recently lost a cherished pet. I gifted six of these to a dear friend who had suddenly lost one of her beloved family dogs. The grief had weighed heavily on her, and I wanted something to honor her "baby" during the holidays. I initially ordered four ornaments-one for each of her dogs-and later added two more because I wanted every ornament to capture the dogs smiling. A close friend of mine lost her fur baby of 17 years and was crushed. My first instinct was to send flowers, but wanted something that would last longer (and keep a smile on her face every time she saw it). I came across this garden stone and, once received, my friend was speechless. Uncommon Goods is always my first stop for unique gifts, but the heart in this gift is beyond words. The design process was very easy (I went through my friend's previous Instagram posts to find the details to include), fast, and left a lasting impression. Worth every penny.

A thoughtful gift for someone who lost their beloved dog. They put the dogs tags around the neck and it's comforting to them. I have two myself and have given them as gifts.

Everyone always sends gifts to their loved ones when someone passes in the first week, but we sometimes forget about the grieving process 6 months, 1 year or 5 years down the line for our loved one. This was the perfect gift for a friend who lost his mom, which I gifted right before his mom's first birthday post death. It's a great way to heal and show others we care, because grief comes in stages and at different times.
