I woke up the next day excited for leftovers!
Eleni is an excellent teacher. This was the very best, well-designed cooking class I've ever taken. Our pre-class prep list was very clear, and I had everything chopped and ready to go before class began. The class had an easygoing feel, because Eleni had everything timed perfectly. It was easy to be successful! We made 4 different complimentary things (with an optional 5th if you chose to do the fermentation prep process for the flatbread.) Eleni also taught us a bit about Ethiopian culture via food while we cooked, which I found interesting. And…the food was excellent!!!! Everything was cooked to perfection, and I woke up this morning (day after class) excited about my leftovers.

A lovely gift
My sister bought my partner and I an attendance of this class for a Christmas gift. We had a load of fun following along, cooking, and learning. The supplies came in a timely manner. There was another person supplying links, information in chat, and keeping an eye out for questions and assistance. Three other couples attended at the same time which added a social element. The instructions were clear, easy to follow, and the dishes were delicious. Thank you for the introduction to cooking for Ethiopian cooking. It certainly won't be my last foray.

I really enjoyed learning about Ethiopian cooking
It was very nice to learn from a person who clearly knew their dishes very well and was very casual about the experience. I didn't feel pressure or worry. I am very much looking forward to trying what I have made! Having a camera on each dish as it was cooking was very helpful. It would be helpful to have pronounced in their Ethiopian names each dish.

Now we can make authentic Ethiopian food!
We absolutely LOVE the interactive cooking classes on Uncommon Goods; this was our 4th class and it didn't disappoint! Every class we have attended has been amazing, so much fun as well as educational - plus, we get to enjoy a delicious meal afterwards, not to mention expanding our culinary repertoire and learning how to make authentic exotic dishes from all over the world! "Simmered in Spice" was no exception, we had a blast making four delicious dishes and now we can't wait to try out our new skills again for friends & Family - thanks Uncommon Goods for bringing such a fun activity into our home again!

Wonderful Recipes, Instruction, and Experience
I purchased the Simmered in Spice Ethiopian Cooking class as a Kwanzaa gift for my husband. It would be a great Christmas or birthday gift for anyone who enjoys cooking and trying new cuisines. We absolutely loved the lentil stew and berbere sauce. We enjoyed trying the turmeric cabbage and the yellow split peas (the jalapeño is a spicy yet fresh addition). The shopping list was simple, and we were able to get the produce easily at our local grocery store. My husband had a lot of fun making something new, and I would repurchase this same class to do with another relative or friend in the future. It was very fun!
