Great evening with a mystery
This is exactly what we expected. We played with two of us and found it very challenging. We wish we had saved this one for a larger group but maybe the next one.

We Had and Hour and a Half of Togetherness But not really fun. We solved it without tons of clues but I wouldn't recommend it.

I highly recommend this mystery fun!
I got this as a gift for my husband and son. My son is 6, so I was a little worried that this may be above his head. I'm so glad I was wrong! This was a perfect family activity! It was so much fun!! The interactive nature of the game (with searching for things on the web, text messages, and clues) was so spectacular. It made you feel like you were really working with the team on the ground solving a real mystery! My son was able to keep up and he said it felt so real and loved that it felt like we were really on a mission. It took us a few hours to complete it, but we really wanted to do it together as a family and not use too many hints or guessing. There was a cool bonus surprise at the end too. I highly recommend getting this, especially if you like escape rooms, mysteries, detective stories, or pirates. Enjoy!
FAQs
1. How long does this mystery puzzle game take to complete?
This mystery puzzle game typically takes about 2 to 3 hours to complete. Even experienced escape room enthusiasts report spending around 2 hours working through the clues, and families who take their time and minimize hints may spend closer to 2.5 to 3 hours. The game is designed with enough depth and challenge that it doesn't feel rushed — and some players say just when they thought it was over, another mission appeared.
2. What age is this mystery puzzle game appropriate for?
This mystery puzzle game is appropriate for a wide age range, though it's primarily designed for adults and older kids. Children as young as 6 and 7 have participated and enjoyed it with parental involvement, while kids ages 9–12 can actively contribute as part of a team. The game is definitely challenging enough for adults, including engineers and seasoned escape room fans, making it an ideal activity for mixed-age families or adult groups alike.
3. Do you need internet access or a phone to play this mystery game?
Yes, you do need internet access and a cell phone to fully enjoy this mystery game. The gameplay incorporates interactive elements like websites, YouTube videos, real text message exchanges with in-game characters, and AI-powered components. Players describe these digital elements as immersive and unique, making it feel like you're genuinely working a real mission. Having a connected device ready before you start is recommended.
4. Is this mystery puzzle game good for couples or does it need a big group?
This mystery puzzle game can be enjoyed by couples, though it tends to shine most with a larger group. Couples report having a great time and finding the game appropriately challenging — it's been praised as a top pick for duos who love true crime, detective shows, or escape rooms. That said, several families note the game benefits from having more minds involved, as some puzzles truly benefit from group collaboration and different perspectives.
5. What makes this mystery game different from other escape room or puzzle box games?
What makes this mystery game stand out from other escape room or puzzle box games is its deeply immersive, multi-layered experience. Unlike standard puzzle boxes, this game blends physical clues — including authentic-looking props like magazine-style pages — with interactive digital elements such as real phone numbers to text, websites to explore, YouTube videos, AI interactions, and even an in-game music experience. Players who have tried many mystery box games describe this one as the most realistic simulation of actually solving a mystery, giving it a uniquely cinematic feel that other games don't match.

While the game is rated 14+ is that for content (language, violence, etc.) or for the challenge of the puzzles?
Verified reply from Jen
Great question, this is recommended for kids 14+ due to the challenge of the puzzles and the need to use the internet and a phone.

Does each player need their own cell phone? My elderly parents share a phone.
Verified reply from Itamar
Great question! A phone is not required by each participant to play. The SMS AI characters are simply additional offerings to add personality to the game :^)

I am considering giving this as a gift to someone who lives in Europe. Is there any reason they would not be able to use it (i.e., due to websites that cannot be accessed outside the US/from Europe for GDPR or other reasons, inability to give a foreign phone number to receive an SMS, etc.)?
Verified reply from Itamar
Great question! As always SMS fees may apply. Please select the specific European country you are shipping to before checkout to see if this item is available to ship to your intended recipient :^)

Can this be played with more than 4 people?
Verified reply from Michael
Our games are designed for one to four players. If you have multiple players, extra computers and phones can make play more enjoyable. We’ve even seen players order two kits so they can play together remotely - great idea!
