Unreliable as a charger
This charger looks great and has a nice little hidden storage area inside the book. However, I have found the charging to be unreliable. I place my phone on the cover. Sometimes, I have to move it around to find just the right spot. When I find it, I see my phone start to charge. Thinking I'm good, I walk away, go to sleep, or turn my back. When I check in on the progress, instead of charging, I see blue and red blinking lights to indicate the phone hasn't been charging at all. Sometimes I have to disconnect the charge cable and reconnect to get the lights to reset. It is very frustrating that I can see my phone connect to charge, only to have it cut out for seemingly no reason. The book doesn't get too hot, my phone has not been bumped out of position. The charging just...quits.
Response from merchant
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about the trouble you’ve experienced with the charger. The charging behavior you described sounds frustrating, especially when the phone initially appears to be charging and then stops without being moved. That’s certainly not the experience we want for our customers. We always stand behind our products and will gladly replace a defective item. We’d like to send a replacement; we’re reaching out to get started

Great idea, poor charging
This is great in theory, however I had my phone on the charger across the room and I could hear the ding of it disconnecting, then reconnecting, then disconnecting over and over. Also, the charger says it's fast but my iPhone said "slow charger"

No regret splurge
I appreciate how "the book" is still able to open and act as a small container. Very useful for keeping the end table/nightstand looking tidy. The only issue I have is, the area where my phone starts charging is extremely precise (Pixel 7XL w/case). Having said that, it still works well once it's in position and looks good overall.

Cute, but...
This is a perfect gift for a book lover. However the word "Hidden" in the title would lead you to believe that the power is just that - hidden. The book does not "hold" a charge- rather it is not rechargeable. A power cord comes out from the top to be continuously plugged in. Would not buy again for the price.

What is the length of the charging cable? Just need to make sure it would reach from the book to the outlet. Thanks!

Hello! The measurement of the cord is 70 inches.

The book itself doesn't hold a charge? It must be plugged in at all times?
Verified reply from Allison
Yes! Wireless chargers need to be plugged into a power source to work.
