This is a Christmas gift. If I put the recipient's information in the customization section will I get the first mailing and will they get the mailing as 2-6? The customization says only put a name there if recipient is different from checkout name. Making sure this the person doesn't get the first mailing before Christmas and that it will be sent to me.

Hi! Yes using the customization section will send the first mailing to you to gift and then the subsequent mailing will go to the recipient at the address you entered in customization. If you order in December the first will go to you, and then January's will go to the recipient.

It is designed to hold the replica documents and envelopes included in the subscription, and can hold approximately 85 flat pages. The folio features a vintage-inspired design, a classic brown color, and a metallic red embossed logo. It also has a brass snap button for closure

I want to give this as a gift and just want to verify that all the recipes given are the full and complete recipe to bake/cook. Also, I've read some reviews and it seems like some of the recipes call for things we do not use anymore(?) do you provide recommended substitutions for things like that in the subscription?

The Rosa Parks' "Featherlite" pancakes are made from eggs, milk, butter, and peanut butter. Emily Dickinson's Black Cake asks for raisons, currants, dates, all spice plus more! If I purchased a six month subscription, would it auto-renew after the six months for another subscription? Or is it just a one time charge with no auto-renewal?

When purchasing the 6 month Recipes By Mail Subscription 1st Collection, it is a one time charge. It does not auto-renew. If you'd like the 6 month 2nd Collection, you would need to purchase that collection separately. Or, we do have a full year available!

Thank you for your question! You can expect each recipe to be different in size, similar to the image shown on the item page. Some recipes are written on envelopes while others may be written on full size letter paper. Hope this helps!
