What is the best way to clean the groove/slit where the wire slots into? The place where the wire actually connects to the stone is especially difficult to get clean.

It can be cleaned by placing the board in the dishwasher with the slot facing down and the wire removed from the slot. Alternatively, using hot water combined with some water pressure works well too.
