UncommonGoods team members<\/a> are passionate about their work. As partners, parents, sons, and daughters, we\u2019re also committed to family. All workers should be able to balance the two, but most Americans can\u2019t afford to take time off to care for a new child or seriously ill loved one. In fact, the United States is the only industrialized nation without a national paid leave program, and only 14 percent of American workers have access to paid family leave through their employer. Thanks to a lot of active voices (including ours<\/a>) New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed into law the strongest paid leave policy in the United States<\/a>\u00a0last year.\u00a0However, there is still more work to do.<\/p>\n

On International Women\u2019s Day<\/a>, we partnered with Family Values @ Work<\/a>, <\/span>a network of coalitions in 24 states working to pass paid leave policies, to launch an interactive map <\/a>designed for you to learn the status of your state’s paid family leave campaign and take action. As we build on this campaign through Mother\u2019s Day and Father\u2019s Day, we are excited to welcome Family Values @ Work to our Better to Give<\/a> program. Through this partnership, when you choose Family Values @ Work at checkout, we will donate $1 (at no cost to you) to help them in their mission to advocate for inclusive paid family and medical leave policies in the United States. <\/span><\/p>\n
